Every restaurant and bar begins with a type of idea. A handful of words, impressions, and intentions thought, spoken, sketched, or written before the physical forms. This year's theme celebrates this.

A break from the visual familiar. Type shifts attention away from how spaces look, to the emotions, feelings, and ideas that inspired them.
Objects, surfaces, rituals, lighting, and sound are re-imagined as raw concept, written into the very shapes they inform. A chair reveals the impressions of comfort it's built for. A pendant lamp describes the scenes it oversees. A bar top speaks to the vast array of human stories played out above it.
