The Fortnum's Bar and Restaurant at The Royal Exchange (London) will host a Restaurant & Bar Design Talk, bringing luxury heritage and tradition to this iconic destination in the heart of the city.
Talkers include Keith Bradshaw (Principal, Speirs + Major), Hannah Carter Owers (Co-Director, Universal Design Studio) and Zia Zareem-Slade (Customer Experience Director, Fortnum & Mason).


Universal Design Studio
Founded in 2001 by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby and co-directed by Hannah Carter Owers and Jason Holley, Universal Design Studio is an award-winning architecture and interior design practice based in London. The studio is driven by a deeply held belief in the transformative power of well-designed, finely-crafted spaces, and creates boutique hotels and restaurants, retail environments, workspaces, galleries and cultural institutions all over the world. Underpinned by rigorous research and development and inspired by the creativity that comes from the close collaboration of a diverse group of practitioners with their clients, the practice employs a bespoke approach for every project, resulting in better spaces, better experiences, and better cities.


Speirs + Major
Speirs + Major are an independent, award-winning international design practice that uses light and darkness to enhance the experience of the visual environment. Their work is wide-ranging in type and scale encompassing lighting for architecture and urban design. They collaborate closely with clients, architects and other design partners using light to reveal the core principles of the design, often creating a strong visual narrative while becoming an integral part of the final built form. Their approach combines creativity with pragmatism, ensuring solutions are both sustainable and easy to manage.
